System updates made since April require all users—both first-time and returning—to sign up for a new login account. You may do this in one of two ways:

  1. Create a login account on an existing record. Click here for instructions.
  2. Use your Google, LinkedIn, or Apple account to link your HBLB account and sign Click here for instructions.

Once logged in successfully, the dashboard will display the Individual Overview page. This page provides access for both Individuals corporate renewals. Click here for instructions:

Renewal Period Began October 1st and Ends December 31st

The HBLB strongly encourages renewing online, as it’s the easiest, fastest, and most accurate method for Alabama’s homebuilders and remodelers to renew their licenses.

Why Renew Online?

  • Accurate: Required fields reduce errors and omissions.
  • Easier: The online application guides the applicant through the process and is available 24-7. Applicants can renew as late as 11:59 PM on the day
    of the deadline.
  • Faster: Responses and payment confirmations are transferred immediately to the Home Builders Licensure Board database —no postal delays.

Paper vs. Online Renewal Facts:

  • Licensees may request a paper renewal package by written request sent directly to the HBLB or download and print the appropriate renewal application from here.
  • Renewal deadlines are the same for both online and paper submissions.
  • On-time renewals: Submit and confirm payment by 11:59 PM, November 30.
  • Late renewals: Applications submitted December 1–31 will incur a $50 late fee.
  • Expired licenses: No renewals are accepted after 11:59 PM, December 31. Licenses not renewed by then will be considered expired, and an expired license processing fee will apply ($350 for Unlimited/Limited License, $150 for Roofer License).
  • All major credit and debit cards are accepted for online payment.
  • Credit reports can be ordered online via the link provided here.
